ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – One person died Thursday evening as a result of a multi-vehicle wreck in north Charlottesville that left another person trapped.
The accident unfolded at the intersection of Rio Road East and Hillsdale Drive, forcing the area to shut for about four hours.
Preliminary details collected by University of Virginia’s Office of Emergency Management indicated that one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials did not immediately disclose the circumstances of the crash or the condition of the surviving victim.
